Bitcoin’s Fourth-Ever Fisher Crossover Adds Fuel to Bull-Market Case
• September 18, 2026 7:13 am • CommentsBitcoin has produced a technical signal that has appeared only three other times in its history, giving bulls a fresh reason to argue that the market’s long-term floor may already be in.
Cointelegraph reported that the monthly Fisher Transform has printed its fourth recorded bullish crossover for Bitcoin. The indicator is designed to make turning points in price action easier to identify, and its three previous monthly bullish crosses lined up with major bear-market bottoms.
Analyst Willy Woo put the historical record plainly: the earlier bottom signals were three-for-three without a false start. The new crossover is number four.
The latest monthly cross occurred in July at roughly -2.26, after Bitcoin had fallen to a 21-month low near $57,000. On the weekly view, Fisher has been making higher lows while Bitcoin’s price made lower lows, a bullish divergence that also appeared during the final six months of the 2022 bear market.
The reporting also carried an important caveat: Woo said Bitcoin could still consolidate or move lower before a durable uptrend takes hold. The signal describes a long-term reversal structure, not a promise of an immediate straight-line rally.

Why the Fisher Transform has traders paying attention.
The Fisher Transform takes market prices, which tend to cluster around extremes more often than a normal distribution would suggest, and converts them into a smoother signal. Its Fisher line and delayed trigger line move around a zero level.
When the faster line turns upward through the trigger after an extended decline, technicians treat it as evidence that momentum may be reversing.
The latest monthly cross occurred in July at roughly -2.26. That does not guarantee an immediate rally.
It does suggest that Bitcoin may be transitioning away from the conditions that produced the July low near $57,000.
There is a second piece of evidence on the weekly chart. The Fisher reading reached a swing low near -2.85 late last year while Bitcoin traded around $90,000.
Since then, the indicator has made higher lows even as Bitcoin’s price made lower lows. That bullish divergence resembles the final stretch of the 2022 bear market.
A golden cross helps, but resistance still matters.
Bitcoin also confirmed a daily golden cross this month as its shorter moving average climbed above its longer one. Having both a rare monthly reversal signal and a better daily trend structure strengthens the bullish case, but neither signal removes the need for price confirmation.
That caution is important because Bitcoin has repeatedly struggled around the upper-$70,000 range. Rekt Capital recently identified approximately $78,300 as a key weekly closing level, warning that a failure to reclaim it could leave the market vulnerable to another breakdown.
At this very moment, Bitcoin is positioned for a repeat of bearish price history
However, Bitcoin has a few more days to turn things around before the new Weekly Close, if it can

Live market data showed the asset trading around the upper-$77,000 to $78,000 area Friday. A decisive hold above the current range would make the crossover signals harder to dismiss.
A rejection would keep the July low debate open.
There is also a statistical limitation worth remembering: three prior successes make for an intriguing record, not a large sample. Bitcoin has changed dramatically across market cycles, and macro conditions can overpower even rare technical setups.
Still, this is more than an ordinary short-term momentum flash. The monthly Fisher crossover, the weekly bullish divergence and the daily golden cross are all pointing in the same direction.
Price now has to prove that the signal is real.
