Bitso As New Sponsor Of Sao Paulo Football Club

Bitso is a South American crypto trading platform that just landed a partnership with the Sao Paulo Football Club for the next three years.

The partnership entails that the Bitso brand is displayed on the football’s teams jerseys in order to increase awareness of the crypto exchange’s brand.

Bitso today is well established in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia.

Currently, the crypto exchange has around a 3.7 million user base spread across Latin America and the partnership is expected to expose the exchange to over 20 million football fans as club is well-known for its past titles.

AIThority reports:

“We are very proud to announce this partnership and support the Brazilian soccer team with the most international titles.

Most importantly, Bitso and São Paulo share a common goal of pursuing excellence, and, now, we will happily pursue this together from this day forward,” said Beatriz Oliveira, Head of Marketing for Latin America at Bitso.

“This partnership kicks off Bitso’s support for Brazilian sports, aligned with our growth goals in Brazil as we work to demonstrate that the crypto market is reliable, secure, and simple.”

The partnership will afford Sao Paulo FC fans to pay for tickets and merchandise through digital currencies through the Bitso platform.

Additionally, as many as 18,000 seats at the Morumbi Stadium have been reserved for Bitso customers.

“We’re thrilled to have the logo of the leading cryptocurrency company in Latin America on our tricolor jersey, and work together to provide millions of São Paulo fans with new and innovative experiences on and off the field.

With this partnership, we are opening a new chapter in the history of our club”, celebrates Eduardo Toni, executive director of marketing at São Paulo Futebol Clube.

This partnership is a continuation of a long line of crypto-related sponsors that have entered the sports advertising scene.

American cryptocurrency exchange, FTX, had previously partnered with UC Berkeley in exchange for getting the naming rights to the California Memorial Stadium.

Partnerships between crypto-related firms and sports clubs are increasingly common now indicating a widespread acceptance of the industry as a whole and further encouragement for mainstream adoption.

This trend is expected to continue in Brazil due to Brazilian financial regulators taking a relaxed approach to crypto.

As of right now, the industry has very little regulation and the only major requirement as of right now is that people report it on the tax returns if they hold a significant amount of it.

Additionally, in Brazil, there is a view that crypto is not only for those who are wealthy or understand the technology.

Reports indicate that 40% of crypto holders in Brazil are actually making minimum wage or less which solidifies the perspective in Brazil that crypto is a type of asset accessible to everyone in society.

LedgerInsights reports:

“This partnership is Bitso’s first kick into the Brazilian sport segment, and it is in line with our growth objectives in Brazil while showcasing our work to demonstrate that the crypto market is trustworthy, simple, and secure,” said Bitso’s Head of Marketing Beatriz Oliveira.

Bitso has a DLT license from Gibraltar’s GFSC.

It is expected that we continue to see many more partnerships similar to Bitso and the sports industry in Brazil as well as the rest of Latin America.
