Bored Ape Yacht Club Giving People Eye Problems? ApeFest Attendees Sound Alarm

Attendees of this year’s ApeFest are sounding the alarm on a troubling development.

According to multiple attendees and sources, several individuals experienced searing eye discomfort, ‘sunburned’ skin, headaches, and even vision problems after attending the event hosted by Yuga Labs in Hong Kong.

At least one individual claimed that it was due to the presence of UV lights at the festival: “Woke up in the middle of the night after Apefest with so much pain in my eyes that I had to go to the hospital. I’ve seen several tweets about it. [The] doctor told me it was due to the UV from stage lights. I go to festivals often but have never experienced this.”

Spokespeople for Yuga Labs are currently looking into the situation, and ProCoin News will provide updates as they become available to us. Coin Telegraph reports:

A Yuga Labs spokesperson told Cointelegraph that they were aware of the situation and were taking it seriously; “we are actively reaching out to and are in touch with those affected. We’re also pursuing multiple lines of inquiry to learn the root cause.”

“Based on our estimates, the 15 people we’ve been in direct communication with so far represent less than one percent of the approximately 2,250 event attendees and staff at our Saturday night event,” they added.

Daily Coin added:

Many of the attendees underscored the seriousness of their discomfort, including blurry visions and burning skin, some even seeking emergency medical treatment.
