Following Ripple’s historic victory over the SEC in the multi-year lawsuit, XRP continues to gain traction.

Numerous exchanges and wallet services have since relisted XRP in the wake of the legal precedent set by the Ripple V SEC lawsuit, with more likely to come in the near future.

On Wednesday, ProCoin News reported that Gemini issued a cryptic tweet regarding XRP that set the rumor mill ablaze, and today those rumors have proven poignant.

According to a press release from Gemini on Thursday, the exchange has listed XRP for the first time ever!

Deposit functionality is available as of the time of this writing, with trading support going live very soon, Gemini stated in this tweet:

Gemini explained the details in this press release:

We are delighted to announce support for XRP Ledger (XRP), adding a new blockchain to Gemini’s growing list of supported networks!

XRP is now available for deposits on Gemini.*

Trading for XRP will follow, opening first on our API/FIX and ActiveTrader applications for the USD trading pair. It will then become available on the Gemini website and mobile app on a rolling basis for USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, HKD, and SGD pairs.

XRP investors and the broader crypto community responded to the latest announcement with enthusiasm and celebrated.

Coin Journal adds:

The news has however done little to stop the bearish trend that has seen the XRP token price drop by over 6% in the past seven days.
