Chingari is known as a short video platform that is often known as the Tiktok of India and currently has 35 million active users on its platform.

The app is widely available in both the App Store and the Google Play market where the app has reportedly been downloaded over 100 million times already.

The company recently announced that it would be integrating its native GARI token to be issued on the Solana blockchain which would greatly boost the number of ecosystems relying on Solana’s network.

Hackernoon reports:

Chingari, a decentralised short video platform, is launching a mobile app on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, integrating the native $GARI token issued on the Solana blockchain.

Chingari, often known as the “Indian Tiktok,” intends to redefine the content production scene on its platform to integrate the app’s millions of daily users to the Solana blockchain.

As the primary Chingari ecosystem token, $GARI will enable users to ‘tip’ and ‘boost’ their favourite content creators’ profiles and content on the Chingari app.

Users may also use their in-app wallets to deposit and withdraw $GARI, as well as trade the token on some of the world’s top cryptocurrency exchanges.

When millions of people experience GARI integration in the Chingari App, it will be a game-changer.

Existing and new users will be able to Tip other artists, raise their profile, obtain governance powers, and utilise various other app features.

GARI is essentially being introduced as an SPL token on the Solana network with the aim to promote  low cost and quick transactions.

There are plans next quarter to launch a video NFT marketplace within the app and longer term visions to turn the app into a crypto powered creative community that utilizes GARI for its ecosystem.

As a result, sub-economies could also be created where creators could interact with their audience and exchange digital assets through the use of the NFTs.

The best content creators would be compensated digitally for their content and the way the platform is setup would incentivize creators to continue to push more exciting content.

EuropeanBusinessReview reports:

Despite being added to the Chingari app today, the $GARI token has already broken several records in the cryptocurrency universe.

At the end of January, $GARI become the first-ever crypto to gain a simultaneous listing on at least six top centralized crypto exchanges, completing a record $100 million in its trading volume less than 24 hours following the listing.

Some of the exchanges to list the token includes FTX, Kucoin, Huobi, Gate.io, OKEx, and MEXC Global.

It’s not the $GARI token that witnessed explosive growth at the start of the year but the Chingari app too.

Aiming to challenge the centralized short video-making platforms such as Instagram Reels, Tiktok, and Youtube Shorts, Chingari has risen as the largest application in India.

Launched in 2018, the creator-friendly app boasts as one of the biggest social media applications in the sub-continent with over 100 million+ app downloads and 35 million+ monthly active users.

With this new addition to the Solana blockchain, the number of activity within the Solana ecosystem is expected to grow tremendously due to the large user base of the app.

Solana has been referred to as one of the top competitors to Ethereum due to its low cost and fast transaction speeds and the recent announcement will certainly test the blockchain’s scaling capabilities.
