Flight Risk? Former Binance CEO Asked To Surrender Documents

U.S. prosecutors are now demanding that former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao surrender all his passports ahead of his sentencing.
The former CEO has repeatedly and unsuccessfully petitioned the U.S. government for the right to return home to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ahead of his sentencing.
All of his attempts have failed despite his promises of collateral securing his return. This recent request from U.S. officials might shed light on their plans for the former Binance CEO.
Prosecutors in America are almost certainly trying to imprison Zhao, and this is likely why they want all of his passports and have denied his request to return home several times.
Whether or not Zhao faces time behind bars is currently unknown, but this move does signal the intent of U.S. prosecutors. Here’s what we currently know:

Coin Telegraph confirmed:
The U.S. Attorney’s Office asked that CZ surrender his Canadian passport and “all other current and expired passports and travel documents” to his legal team.
Zhao also holds citizenship in the United Arab Emirates, where he had requested to travel to visit family ahead of his sentencing — a motion the judge denied.

According to Coin Journal:
The sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 30 and prosecutors want the former Binance CEO to remain in the United States till then.
They also want him to notify the prosecution ahead of any travel plans, with the request being that he give a three-day notice to allow prosecutors raise objections.
