Cryptocurrency as a viable, practical, everyday, payment solution is still a goal in its infancy…
Currently, cryptocurrencies are seen more as ‘online money’, or legitimate digital assets that function as a store of value, an investment, or utility, and aside from the few brick and mortar businesses who opt to accept crypto payments—most don’t yet.
The obstacles to accepting crypto for small businesses are clear, first they must find a merchant payment processor who can process the transactions.
Next, they need a way to streamline and account for crypto transactions within their own point of sale systems, and finally they must have a secure place to actually store their crypto revenues.
Luckily, Lavu is solving these issues for restaurants that use their point of sale (POS) systems.
A recent announcement from the POS company indicates that they have enabled crypto payment processing for restaurants which use their software and systems in 65 countries.
The newly added feature comes via a partnership with international telecom company Verifone.
