Another major platform has added support for Ripple’s native currency!
BitPay, one of the oldest crypto payment providers, announced that it added global support for XRP on Tuesday via this announcement:

Users will now be able to send, receive, and store XRP in their allotted BitPay wallets.
Additionally, because BitPay is primarily a crypto payment processor, users can now spend their XRP at any business that is enrolled.
At the time of this writing, the XRP price has yet to respond to this recent development.

Currently, an impressive roster of 30 merchants has aligned with BitPay to accept XRP. This ensemble includes prominent names such as AMC Theatres, Hublot, PacSun, CryptoTurismo and even esteemed German precious metals dealer Auragentum.

The XRP market hasn’t seen significant upside reaction in the days following the news. Indeed, prices are down 10% in the past week.
However, adoption news for XRP has been steady since Ripple’s triumph over SEC, and could see more bullish reaction if the regulator loses again.
