Per KOMO News:
President Donald Trump will host a “crypto summit” on Friday, David Sacks, White House czar of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, announced last week.
Sacks posted on social media platform X that Trump will speak at the event, which he wrote will be attended by prominent founders, CEOs and investors of the cryptocurrency industry.
Three days after Trump began his second term, he said the U.S. was going to become the world capital and a “manufacturing superpower” of cryptocurrency. It was going to happen through the declaration of a “national energy emergency,” which would unlock “liquid gold” under the country and “pave the way” for rapid approvals of new energy infrastructure, according to the president.
That same day, Trump issued an executive order to form an “internal working group” that would make the U.S. the “world capital on crypto.” That group would evaluate the potential creation and maintenance of a “national digital asset stockpile,” according to the president.
