Pro-Bitcoin Presidential Candidate WINS Election!
• November 19, 2023 7:48 pm • CommentsCongratulations to the people of Argentina—they just took matters into their own hands.
Those who truly understand economics understand that there are no competing economic theories—there is one, simple truth: central planners typically destroy everything they touch.
The answer to all our economic woes is simply less government all of the time until the state either ceases to exist at all or exists in the most minimal form possible.
This is the message of Javier Milei, Argentina’s new President-elect, a man who is anti-state, a Mises libertarian economist, and pro-Bitcoin. Turkish crypto news site Bitcoin Systemi provided this statement from Milei:
Milei is known for being a staunch Bitcoin supporter. When it comes to Bitcoin, Milei speaks positively about BTC, saying that Bitcoin “represents the return of money to the private sector, which is its true owner.”
Libertarians and Argentinians of all stripes took to the internet and the streets to celebrate Milei’s historic victory:
Wow! Javier Milei won! Hard to overstate how huge this is. I know he’s not perfect and who knows what obstacles he will still have to overcome, but a presidential candidate winning on a bold libertarian populist message lays the groundwork for what is possible.

The Guardian provided this statement from Milei’s defeated opponent Sergio Massa:
“Argentinians have chosen another path. Obviously these are not the results we hoped for and I have spoken to Javier Milei to congratulate him because he’s the president that the majority of Argentines have chosen for the next four years.”
