The founder of the Silk Road, Ross Ulbricht, has received a massive crypto donation.
If you are familiar with the early days of cryptocurrency, then the name Ross Ulbricht might ring a bell.
Ross Ulbricht, who went by the pseudonym of Dread Pirate Roberts, was the founder of the dark web trading platform, the Silk Road.
The Silk Road was essentially the Amazon of the dark web, where people could buy guns, illegal drugs, and other illegal products using cryptocurrency.
After a lengthy investigation, Ulbricht was arrested by authorities as the mastermind of the site and a Manhattan Federal court found Ulbricht “guilty of distributing narcotics, distributing narcotics by means of the Internet, conspiring to distribute narcotics, engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, conspiring to commit computer hacking, conspiring to traffic in false identity documents, and conspiring to commit money laundering.”
Ulbricht was sentenced to life in prison with no parole.
However, President Trump pardoned Ross earlier in the year, and today he is free and is still a Bitcoin advocate.
Since having all of his Bitcoin seized by the Feds, Ross has had to start from scratch but luckily for him he just recived a massive Bitcoin donation.
Per Binance News:
According to TechFlow, on June 1, blockchain analysis platform Lookonchain reported that the donation wallet of Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht received a transfer of 300 bitcoins, valued at approximately $31.4 million, eight hours ago.

This isn’t the first time Ulbricht has received Bitcoin donations.
Per DeCrypt:
Meanwhile, donations have been flowing into Ulbricht since his release from the federal penitentiary on Tuesday. The cryptocurrency exchange Kraken contributed $111,111 to Ulbricht on Wednesday.
According to Arkham Intelligence, his wallet address has received 2.62 BTC, approximately $272,000, which includes the Kraken donation. Another address associated with Ulbricht has collected $4,615 in Ethereum, USDC, Tether (USDT), and Binance Coin (BNB).
“At this rate, he’ll have $1 million in 3 days,” journalist Pete Rizzo said on X.
Even if Ulbricht controls the wallets in question, whether the U.S. government would attempt to confiscate any Silk Road-related money is as yet unknown. Earlier this month, a federal judge authorized the sale of $6.5 billion seized Silk Road Bitcoin. And crypto legal experts tell Decrypt that federal authorities could come after any Silk Road-related Bitcoin.
