White House Crypto Czar David Sacks has announced he has sold all of his digital assets.

In a post on X, Sacks wrote, “I sold all my cryptocurrency (including BTC, ETH, and SOL) prior to the start of the administration.”

Sacks is in charge of directing the Trump administration’s AI and cryptocurrency policies.

Sacks sold his cryptocurrency to avoid any conflict of interest.

Per The Street:

White House crypto czar David Sacks confirmed in a social media post Sunday that he sold his digital assets before assuming his role in the Trump administration.

“I sold all my cryptocurrency (including BTC, ETH, and SOL) prior to the start of the administration,” Sacks wrote on X.

Sacks is responsible for directing policy on crypto and artificial intelligence (AI), and will chair this week’s White House Crypto Summit, where he will confer with digital asset executives about the country’s first crypto reserve, among other topics.

As the co-founder of the San Francisco-based venture capital firm Craft Ventures, Sacks also acknowledged his prior exposure to digital assets through a $74,000 investment in a Bitwise exchange-traded fund (ETF).

Per Cointelegraph:

White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks confirmed that he does not hold any crypto assets, having sold everything prior to US President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“I sold all my cryptocurrency (including BTC, ETH, and SOL) prior to the start of the administration,” Sacks said on X on March 2.

His comments came in response to a Financial Times article shared by George Hammond on March 2, reporting that Sacks’ investment firm, Craft Ventures, retains stakes in a “small number of crypto startups.”

“Both he [Sacks] and the firm sold their direct cryptocurrency holdings soon after Trump’s inauguration, according to a person with knowledge of the matter,” reported the FT.
