XRP Lawsuit: Court Decision On Hinman Emails Is Coming Soon

July 6, 2022 3:10 pm Comments

Attorney Jeremy Hogan just shared on Twitter that the court’s decision on the Hinman emails may be coming sooner than expected due to the fact that motions to strike expert witnesses are due next Tuesday.

This would be a positive turn of events as the SEC has already delayed the issue of the Hinman emails for long enough much to the frustration of the XRP community.

The SEC has already attempted multiple types of privileges in an attempt to conceal the release of the emails such as the deliberate process privilege’s (DPP) and the attorney client privilege.

However, it seems that time is finally running out as the court reaches its imminent decision which will decide once and for all how the rest of the lawsuit will play out.

U.today reports:

Aside from this, Hogan expresses enthusiasm about Ripple’s motion to strike the expert report of Patrick Doody, who claimed to know the motivation for XRP holders in purchasing the asset.

As previously reported, Fox reporter Eleanor Terrett indicated that decisions on Hinman’s emails and the SEC’s motion to seal its opposition to amici requests were imminent.

Following this, the SEC was asked to submit 10 documents to help the court make its decision, and in June, Judge Sarah Netburn held a conference call to go over the document release.

As the XRP community waits for the court’s imminent decision on what may be the SEC’s last-ditch effort to keep the Hinman documents away from Ripple, observers are on the lookout for clues as to how the case might generally play out.

Reportedly, the Ripple team is also continuing to strengthen its defense by now adding two new members to their legal team.

The two recently hired attorneys are Kylie Chiseul Kim and Clayton J. Masterman who are from the law firm Kellogg Hansen.

With these two new members, they will be continuing to defend the company against the SEC while the company continues to focus on international growth outside of the US.

The company had recently opened new offices in Canada and is on a hiring spree while most of Ripple’s competition has been suffering from the crypto bear market.

CryptoNewz.com reports:

Ripple strengthens its legal team by adding Kushal Kellogg Hansen Lawyers Two recently appointed attorneys, Kylie Chiseul Kim and Clayton J.

Masterman will defend fintech company Ripple in its long legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

In addition to the ongoing litigation, the 0030 XLS-30d proposal is currently being discussed, which aims to add an Automated Market Maker (AMM) to the XRPL network. This will be of great benefit to the network.

As the court decision comes nearer, investors are paying attention on its affect on XRP on the market and whether or not it could be a catalyst for a new rally.
