Trader approving an AI-assisted crypto trading workflow

Binance Makes AI Trading Free, but the Risk Still Belongs to the User

Binance is removing the monthly software price from one tier of its AI trading product. It is not removing the cost of a bad trade.

The exchange’s new AI Pro Standard plan lets users turn plain-language ideas into automated strategies, test them, and deploy them with no monthly subscription charge. That will make algorithmic trading tools available to a much wider audience.

It also creates an easy misunderstanding: free software does not mean free execution, and automation that runs correctly is not necessarily a strategy that makes money.

CryptoSlate reports that Standard includes 250,000 usage credits refreshed each month. Users can preview a strategy, paper-trade it, and move it into live operation.

A separate Premium plan adds more credits and model choices for a monthly fee. Standard users can still build, test, and approve strategies before risking capital, but the product’s checks confirm execution logic rather than profitability.

The free tier still uses the customer’s own trading capital, and ordinary transaction fees continue to apply. Access also varies by region, so the zero-dollar software price does not make the product universal.

CryptoSlate also notes that the earlier paid beta remains separate. Switching on Standard does not automatically cancel an existing subscription, a detail current users need to check before assuming their monthly charge is gone.

The important part is the approval step

AI Pro does not take control of a user’s main account. A trader has to approve an automated strategy before it goes live and transfer funds into a dedicated subaccount.

If the logic changes, the new version needs another approval. Users can also pause the automation or revoke its access.

Those controls preserve a bright line between an assistant proposing an automated process and a user deciding to fund it. But the moment of approval also transfers responsibility.

The trader owns the premise, the risk limits, and the consequences.

Code that works can still lose money

Binance’s functionality checks are designed to determine whether an automated strategy can execute. They do not certify that the trading idea is sound, that its assumptions will survive changing market conditions, or that it is likely to be profitable.

That distinction is the center of this story. A recurring Bitcoin purchase can be automated perfectly and still perform poorly over the period a user cares about.

A momentum rule can fire exactly when instructed and still get chopped apart in a sideways market. An AI-generated strategy can be syntactically clean, logically coherent, and financially terrible.

Free is narrower than it sounds

The Standard subscription price is zero, but live trades still use the customer’s money and remain subject to applicable trading fees. The free tier also does not offer unlimited model usage, and Binance says product availability can vary by region.

Existing users should also pay attention to which version they have. CryptoSlate notes that the earlier paid beta continues separately, so activating the new Standard plan does not automatically cancel an older subscription.

The broader direction is clear. Exchanges want AI to become the layer between a trader’s idea and the mechanics of execution.

That can lower the technical barrier to building a rule-based strategy. It can also let inexperienced users automate bad assumptions faster than they could act on them manually.

The best way to read Binance AI Pro is as a tool, not a money machine. Paper trading, small position sizes, explicit loss limits, and close monitoring still matter.

An assistant may help translate an idea into logic. It does not absorb the losses when that idea meets the market.
