$643 Million Leaves Bitcoin ETFs in One Day—And Erases the Week’s Gains
• October 31, 2026 7:09 pm • CommentsFour days of steady money moving into US spot Bitcoin ETFs disappeared in a single session.
Investors pulled roughly $643.2 million from the funds on October 30, the largest one-day exit since June. The reversal was not confined to one product.
It hit the three biggest names in the market.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust lost about $233.7 million. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund lost $201 million.
ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF posted another $129.5 million in redemptions.
Together, those three funds accounted for roughly $564 million of the day’s outflow.
CryptoSlate reports that the session more than erased the $440.8 million that had entered spot Bitcoin ETFs over the previous four trading days. Instead of extending the streak, Friday’s number pushed the week to about $202.4 million in net outflows.
The withdrawal was broad enough to matter but concentrated enough to identify the pressure points. IBIT, FBTC and ARKB supplied roughly 88% of the day’s Bitcoin ETF outflow.
Smaller exits included about $53.3 million from Grayscale’s GBTC and roughly $25.7 million from Bitwise’s BITB. Even after the reversal, cumulative net inflows across the products remained near $57.4 billion, so the day changed the short-term picture without erasing the market’s longer history.
That is the real story here. One red session erased the inflow run and reversed the week.
The first market summaries focused on the size of the move:

Bitcoin was not alone. US spot Ethereum ETFs recorded roughly $155.85 million in net outflows in the same session, their fifth straight day in the red.
BlackRock’s ETHA led that side of the move with approximately $76.64 million leaving the fund.
Combined, the Bitcoin and Ethereum products shed close to $812 million in one day.
Wu Blockchain’s breakdown showed how concentrated the Bitcoin redemptions were:

One day of redemptions does not erase the larger institutional Bitcoin trade. The US funds still hold tens of billions of dollars and retain substantial cumulative net inflows since launch.
But the daily number is a sharp reminder that ETF demand is not a one-way machine.
It is also important not to read the flow number as a perfect map of open-market selling. ETF shares are created and redeemed through authorized participants.
Those firms can hedge, transfer inventory or settle exposure through several channels. A $643 million fund outflow does not prove that the same dollar amount hit a public exchange order book at once.
What it does show is a sudden change in investor positioning. The previous four sessions suggested buyers were returning.
Friday showed that confidence could be withdrawn faster than it had been rebuilt.
The next few trading sessions will tell us whether this was month-end rebalancing, a one-day response to the Binance shock, or the beginning of a longer institutional retreat.
A return to inflows would make Friday look like a violent reset. Another cluster of red days would make the weekly reversal much harder to dismiss.
For now, the ETF bid is still there. It simply failed its first major test of the week.
