Bitcoin Holders Lock In $2 Billion of Losses as the $73,000 Floor Comes Into View
• November 6, 2026 7:11 pm • CommentsBitcoin’s latest selloff is no longer showing up only as a red number on a price screen. It is now being written into the blockchain as holders move coins at a loss.
Bitcoin investors realized more than $2 billion in losses over the past three days, according to a new analysis summarized by CryptoSlate. Daily realized losses ran between $657 million and $703 million, while weekly net realized profit and loss fell to negative $191 million.
That distinction matters. An unrealized loss exists on paper when an asset trades below its purchase price.
A realized loss means the holder actually moved or sold the coin below its cost basis. Some investors have stopped watching the decline and accepted the loss.
The selling pressure accelerated after Bitcoin slipped below the $80,000 psychological level. The three-day total is large enough to show broad stress, although it remains below the most severe capitulation bursts seen earlier in the year.
The analysis also separates confirmed holder behavior from a price forecast. Coins have changed hands below their acquisition value; whether that transfer marks exhaustion or another stage of the decline depends on the demand waiting underneath.
Realized losses are dominating Bitcoin trading today.
On a weekly basis, net realized PnL stands at -$191M. Over the last 3 days, investors have realized between $657M and $703M in losses on Bitcoin per day.

The support zone is getting a real test
The pressure arrives after Bitcoin lost the $80,000 level and slid into the mid-$70,000s. That move has put a widely watched support band between roughly $73,000 and $76,000 back at the center of the market.
CryptoQuant research chief Julio Moreno pointed to two problems beneath the price action: demand is weakening faster, and stablecoin liquidity is contracting.
Stablecoins often serve as readily deployable trading capital. When that pool shrinks while demand is already fading, buyers have less dry powder to absorb forced or fearful selling.
Tough spot for Bitcoin right now.

2. Stablecoin liquidity contracting.Price support remains $73K-$76K. pic.twitter.com/AMjLDrTjH3

The result is a market caught between two competing forces. Buyers can argue that billions of dollars in realized losses are flushing out weak hands and moving coins toward investors willing to hold through volatility.
Sellers can counter that capitulation is not automatically finished simply because it has become visible.
Why $70,000 is entering the conversation
If the $73,000-to-$76,000 band fails to hold, the next psychological level is obvious: $70,000. Traders are treating the current range as more than a routine intraday stop.
The realized-loss data is also backward-looking. It confirms that pain has already occurred; it does not identify the exact bottom.
A durable reversal would need stronger evidence that spot demand is returning, stablecoin liquidity is expanding again, and sellers are losing control of the support zone.
For now, the cleanest signal is behavioral. Holders have crystallized more than $2 billion in losses in three days, and the market is testing whether buyers can absorb that supply before Bitcoin’s support range gives way.
