Bitcoin, XRP, and Zcash tokens rising in a bright crypto market rebound

Bitcoin Reclaims $84,500 as XRP Leads a Broad Crypto Rebound

Bitcoin is back above the level that mattered most to nervous traders this week, and the rebound is finally spreading beyond the market leader.

Bitcoin traded near $84,500 on Wednesday, up roughly 2.5% over 24 hours. The broader crypto market climbed with it, but XRP supplied the sharper move among the largest assets, gaining about 4.1% to $1.37.

Zcash jumped more than 11%.

That is a meaningful change from the mood earlier in October, when Bitcoin fell below $80,000 and rising oil prices, stubborn inflation, and Treasury yields above 5% pushed investors away from risk.

Decrypt reports that total crypto market capitalization returned to roughly $2.9 trillion as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB, XRP, and Zcash all moved higher. The rebound has also pulled the Crypto Fear & Greed Index back to neutral territory.

Panic has faded, even if traders are not yet chasing every green candle.

Ethereum rose about 2.5% to $2,504, Solana gained roughly 2.2% to $108.18, and BNB added about 2% to $749. The breadth matters because Bitcoin-only rallies tend to leave the rest of the market fragile.

Bitcoin also recovered from an October low near $79,700 after losing support during the month’s macro-driven selloff. The rebound puts the market back above its 50-day moving average, but still below the September peak.

XRP is doing more than following Bitcoin.

XRP’s relative strength deserves attention. It outpaced Bitcoin during the daily move, and on-chain valuation data suggest many longer-horizon XRP buyers are still sitting below their average cost.

Santiment’s latest market-value-to-realized-value reading placed XRP around 0.92. A reading below 1 means the average token in the measured group last moved at a higher value than today’s market price.

That helps explain why even a modest improvement in sentiment can produce an outsized XRP move: a large group of holders has been waiting for relief.

The market still has to prove this is more than a relief bounce. Bitcoin has reclaimed support near $81,600, but the larger test remains the September high around $87,400.

A clean move through that zone would strengthen the case that the October selloff has run its course. Failure there would leave Bitcoin inside the same broad range that has frustrated both bulls and bears.

The leverage warning has not disappeared.

There is another reason not to confuse a good day with a cleared runway. Glassnode says leverage remains elevated across large- and mid-cap altcoins even after prices pulled back.

That makes the market vulnerable to another round of forced selling if the rebound stalls.

The macro backdrop is helping for now. Stronger corporate earnings improved global risk appetite Wednesday, but bond yields and oil remain high enough to reverse that mood quickly.

The cleanest read is also the least dramatic: Bitcoin has recovered an important level, XRP is showing real relative strength, and the market has stopped acting as if every bounce must be sold immediately. The next few thousand dollars in Bitcoin will decide whether that becomes a breakout or merely a better-looking range.
