BitMine Adds 27,180 ETH as Its Treasury Pushes Toward 6 Million

BitMine Immersion Technologies added another 27,180 ETH to its balance sheet last week, pushing the world’s largest corporate Ethereum treasury to the edge of 6 million tokens.

The latest purchase was worth roughly $68 million and lifted BitMine’s holdings to 5,956,378 ETH as of Sunday evening.

Decrypt reported that the Ethereum position was valued at about $14.89 billion and represented roughly 4.9% of the network’s supply.

The report said the latest purchase was slightly smaller than the prior week’s 28,086-ETH addition. It also put BitMine’s total holdings at $15.8 billion after including Ethereum, 212 Bitcoin, cash and securities, and stakes in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings.

Most of the ETH is already committed to staking rather than sitting idle. That gives the treasury an income component, although the realized return will continue to depend on changing network yields, token prices and operating conditions.

Decrypt placed the current annualized staking-revenue projection at roughly $334 million using a 2.62% yield. It said BitMine believes that figure could rise to about $392 million if the entire ETH position were staked through MAVAN and partner infrastructure.

A treasury strategy built around weekly buying

The new acquisition followed a slightly larger purchase one week earlier. BitMine added 28,086 ETH in that period, bringing its holdings to 5,929,198 tokens.

That earlier checkpoint was also documented in a BitMine announcement filed with the SEC. The filing listed 5,929,198 ETH as of September 7, along with 211 Bitcoin and $593 million in cash and marketable securities.

BitMine said 5,067,309 ETH was staked at that point, equal to about 85% of its Ethereum holdings. The company also said it had acquired ETH every week since launching the treasury strategy on June 30, 2025.

The filing described BitMine as the world’s largest Ethereum treasury and the second-largest crypto treasury behind Strategy. It also laid out the concentration, market, staking, regulatory and operational risks attached to the approach instead of presenting the projected returns as guaranteed.

BitMine’s own account highlighted its bullish market view in the previous update:

A separate market post captured the size and pricing of that earlier weekly purchase:

Most of the ETH is already working

BitMine has put most of the tokens into staking. About 5.07 million ETH—roughly 85% of its holdings—is committed.

At a reported 2.62% yield, the company projects that stake could generate approximately $334 million in annualized revenue. BitMine estimates annualized revenue could rise to $392 million if its full ETH position were staked through its MAVAN platform and outside partners.

Those figures are projections, not guaranteed income. Ethereum staking yields change, token prices move constantly, and operating or technical risks can affect realized results.

Still, the staking component makes this strategy different from a company buying a volatile asset and waiting for the price to rise.

BitMine valued its total holdings at $15.8 billion. In addition to Ethereum, the figure included 212 Bitcoin, $549 million in cash and marketable securities, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, and a $98 million stake in Eightco Holdings.

The scale is the story

Ethereum was trading near $2,513 in a live market snapshot Monday evening, with a market capitalization around $307 billion. It remained the second-largest cryptocurrency behind Bitcoin.

Against that backdrop, a corporate holder controlling nearly 5% of the entire ETH supply is no longer a side story. BitMine’s buying can affect the amount of liquid ETH available to the market, while its staking activity ties a large share of the treasury directly to Ethereum’s validator economy.

The next milestone is obvious: 6 million ETH. At its recent pace, BitMine is now less than 44,000 tokens away.
