Evernorth’s XRP Buying Power Now Hinges on a SPAC Redemption Deadline
• September 28, 2026 3:11 pm • CommentsEvernorth’s plan to build a large public XRP treasury is approaching a decisive vote, but the number that matters most may not be the vote count. It is the amount of cash left in the SPAC trust after shareholders finish exercising their redemption rights.
Armada Acquisition Corp. II shareholders had until 5 p.m. Eastern on Monday to request redemption of their public shares. Every redeemed share removes its pro rata cash from the trust.
A heavy redemption wave could therefore leave the combined company with less money available for future XRP purchases after the transaction closes.
CryptoSlate reports that the trust held approximately $241.9 million before the deadline. That figure is not a guaranteed XRP-buying budget.
The final amount depends on redemptions, transaction expenses, closing adjustments and how the company allocates the capital that remains.
At the article’s reference price, the full trust could theoretically fund roughly 157 million XRP. A 50% redemption rate would cut that rough capacity to about 78.5 million XRP before accounting for other uses of cash.
The source also identifies a separate $30 million convertible financing arrangement, but that money is available for general corporate purposes rather than promised exclusively for token purchases. The result is a wide range of possible buying power that cannot be reduced to the headline trust balance.
The distinction is important because Evernorth has pitched itself as more than a passive pile of tokens. The company says it intends to participate across the XRP ecosystem and pursue strategies designed to increase XRP per share over time.
That requires operating capital as well as the ability to buy the asset.
Evernorth has also been working to explain what a public listing could mean for the XRP community. A recent company-hosted discussion previewed the listing, institutional participation and the practical role Evernorth wants to play in the ecosystem.

The Armada definitive proxy statement sets the September 30 shareholder meeting and explains the redemption mechanics. The filing also makes clear that approval is one condition in a longer process.
A favorable vote would not, by itself, settle the final redemption total, complete every closing calculation or prove that the business combination has closed.
Shareholders of record as of August 20 are scheduled to consider the transaction at noon Eastern on September 30. If approved and later completed, the combined company expects to trade on Nasdaq under the XRPN ticker.
The disclosed closing window runs from late in the third quarter into early in the fourth quarter of 2026. That remains a forward-looking estimate subject to shareholder approval, redemption accounting, customary closing conditions and final exchange and capitalization work.
That is why the redemptions deserve attention before anyone converts the trust balance into a theoretical XRP total. If few holders redeem, Evernorth could emerge with a larger pool of cash and more flexibility.
If redemptions are heavy, its buying power narrows before the public company has even started operating.
The proposed company does have other financing arrangements, including a separate $30 million convertible facility described in transaction materials. But that capital is not automatically dedicated to XRP purchases, and it does not erase the difference between a fully funded trust and one reduced by redemptions.
The broader bet is that institutional demand for XRP is deeper than the U.S. market alone. Evernorth recently pointed to unusually strong XRP trading activity on Korea’s two largest exchanges as evidence that the asset already has a substantial global audience.
🇰🇷 We're headed to Korea Blockchain Week, so the market data is obviously top of mind. Korea's two largest exchanges often show that XRP trades more than BTC or ETH.@sagarCBO is in the hotseat on who is driving it and how institutions are evaluating the opportunity. For XRP holders, the near-term sequence is straightforward. First comes the redemption tally, then comes the shareholder vote.
After that, the parties still need to satisfy the remaining closing conditions and disclose the final capitalization of the combined company.
Evernorth may still become a significant institutional buyer of XRP. But until the redemption number is known, the size of that buyer is a range, not a fact.
The market should treat the September 30 vote as a major milestone—not as proof that every dollar currently associated with the deal will reach the XRP market.
