Polygon Opens U.S. Banking Rails to Solana’s $15 Billion Stablecoin Market
• November 2, 2026 11:20 am • CommentsPolygon is pushing its payment infrastructure beyond its own chain, opening a new route between U.S. banking rails and Solana’s fast-growing stablecoin economy.
The expansion brings Polygon’s Open Money Stack to Solana. For eligible overseas businesses, the practical pitch is straightforward: gain access to dollar payment infrastructure in the company’s own legal name without first creating a U.S. entity.
That does not make the service permissionless. Businesses still have to complete know-your-business checks, customers initiating payments face identity verification, and geography determines which corridors are available.
But for fintech firms, remittance providers and payment applications, the integration could remove several expensive pieces of infrastructure they would otherwise have to assemble separately.
One stack for deposits, stablecoins and payouts
In a detailed report on the rollout, CryptoSlate explained that approved businesses can accept money through bank transfers, cards, cash or crypto, convert those funds into stablecoins, hold assets in embedded or custodial Solana wallets, and send payouts through supported channels. The same system can also move assets across Polygon, Ethereum, TRON and other connected networks.
Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron framed the move as infrastructure that should follow users across chains instead of forcing them into one ecosystem.
Moving all money onchain means enabling money to move on the chains people want to use, hold funds on those chains and move them across all chains.
That includes Solana. Welcome to Polygon Open Money Stack.

The structure matters because moving stablecoins is only one part of a real payment product. A provider also needs customer accounts, compliant access to fiat, custody, conversion and a way for recipients to cash out.
Polygon is trying to package those functions behind one integration.
Solana brings the liquidity—and the volume
Solana gives Polygon a much larger stablecoin market to serve. The CryptoSlate report, citing DeFiLlama data, put Solana’s stablecoin supply above $15 billion, third among blockchain networks behind Ethereum and TRON.
Polygon held roughly $3 billion by the same measure.
Volume is another part of the story. Solana said the network had processed more than $5 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume during 2026, and the year was not over when it published that figure.

Polygon had already connected Solana to its Trails routing infrastructure in August, enabling transfers between Solana and more than 20 Ethereum-compatible networks. The new banking layer builds on that route by adding fiat deposits, customer accounts, custody and payout capabilities.
A remittance company, for example, could accept dollars, convert them into USDC on Solana, move the funds through the supported network, and let a recipient withdraw through an available bank or payout channel. That is a more complete product than a basic cross-chain bridge.
Early access is the next test
The Open Money Stack expansion remains in early access, so eligible companies must apply before using it. Adoption will depend on pricing, available corridors, regulatory coverage and whether the system works as cleanly in production as it does on paper.
Still, the strategic direction is clear. Polygon is competing less like a chain trying to keep every transaction at home and more like an infrastructure provider trying to sit underneath payments wherever the liquidity already lives.
On Solana, there is now a very large pool of stablecoin activity to chase.
