Ripple Prime Opens 24/7 RWA Swaps Across More Than 100 Markets
• October 15, 2026 11:08 am • CommentsRipple is pushing its institutional trading business deeper into the territory where traditional markets and crypto infrastructure overlap.
Ripple Prime has launched support for real-world-asset perpetual swaps tied to more than 100 reference markets. The lineup spans equities, stock indexes, exchange-traded funds, metals, energy and foreign exchange, giving qualified institutional clients a way to maintain exposure around the clock instead of being limited to the trading hours of the underlying cash markets.
According to Ripple’s launch announcement, clients including Virtu are already trading the product. Ripple Prime acts as principal in the client-facing swaps, while the contracts reference perpetual futures listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid.
That structure connects an institutional prime-brokerage relationship to markets built on always-on digital rails. The referenced stock, commodity or currency market may close for the night or weekend, but the perpetual contract can continue trading.
For institutions accustomed to managing risk across time zones, that creates another way to react when the cash market is unavailable.
Ripple says clients can consolidate risk management under one counterparty and cross-margin the new swaps against other supported asset classes. RLUSD is available as collateral, while the first rollout operates through Ripple Prime’s CIV BVI license.
The company says it plans to offer the product from additional regions later. The announcement names equities, indexes, ETFs, metals, energy and foreign exchange as reference-market groups, giving the launch a broader reach than a single tokenized-stock pilot.
2026 is the year of RWA perps, and today, @Ripple Prime is enabling institutional clients to trade and settle RWA swaps against over 100 reference markets, cross-margined against other asset classes 24/7.
Single counterparty relationship, centralized risk management and…

The other important piece is margin. Ripple says clients can cross-margin these RWA exposures against other asset classes supported by Ripple Prime.
They can also use Ripple USD, or RLUSD, as collateral for RWA swap transactions. That can reduce the need to keep separate pools of capital parked with different counterparties for different products.
Ripple is selling the arrangement as a single-counterparty setup with centralized risk management and consolidated margin. That is a familiar institutional pitch, but the delivery mechanism is distinctly crypto-native: perpetual contracts, continuous trading and digital collateral all sit underneath the brokerage relationship.
The launch covers more than 100 reference markets across equities, ETFs, metals, energy and foreign exchange. The announcement does not say XRP is required to trade these swaps.
Ripple identifies RLUSD as an available collateral option. Investors should keep that distinction clear.

The product is initially available through Ripple Prime’s CIV BVI license, with the company saying it intends to expand into additional regions. Derivatives rules and eligible-client standards vary sharply by jurisdiction, so access will not expand everywhere at the same pace.
There is also a market-structure question behind the launch. A perpetual contract that trades while its reference cash market is closed can absorb fresh information immediately, but it can also diverge from the next cash-market open.
Institutions using the product will still need to manage basis risk, liquidity and the quality of the reference market during off-hours.
Ripple Prime’s move is a significant marker for tokenized finance. It packages always-on exposure, cross-asset margin and stablecoin collateral into an institutional trading relationship.
That is the kind of working bridge between conventional finance and digital-market infrastructure that the RWA sector has spent years promising.
