Trump Releases Message To “Bitcoiners”

President Trump released a message on Truth Social on Thursday morning just shortly after Bitcoin surpassed $100,000.

Trump wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS BITCOINERS!!! $100,000!!!”

He added, “YOU’RE WELCOME!!! Together, we will Make America Great Again!”

President-elect Donald Trump is wasting no time taking bows for bitcoin’s price rise — and the wealth it is creating for owners of the digital asset.

In a post early Thursday on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “CONGRATULATIONS BITCOINERS!!! $100,000!!! YOU’RE WELCOME!!! Together, we will Make America Great Again!”

The cryptocurrency notched the six-figure milestone late Wednesday, after spending several weeks hovering in the $90,000 range. Bitcoin’s price went skyward after Trump’s clear election victory in November, rising by $20,000 from about $68,318 in just seven days.

Year to date, it’s up more than 130%.

Cryptocurrency advocates are not pushing back on the idea that Trump deserves some credit for the latest price rally.

“His name is President Pump. Up only,” David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin magazine and the Bitcoin Conference, wrote on X.

Per Fox Business:

President-elect Trump congratulated bitcoin holders, and El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele took a victory lap on social media in response to bitcoin surpassing $100,000.

“CONGRATULATIONS BITCOINERS!!! $100,000!!! YOU’RE WELCOME!!! Together, we will Make America Great Again!” Trump declared on Truth Social.

Trump, who positioned himself as a pro-crypto candidate during the 2024 election, pledged earlier this year that if elected, his administration’s policy would be for the U.S. to retain all the bitcoin it holds and all the bitcoin it obtains going forward.

“This will serve in effect as the core of the strategic national bitcoin stockpile,” Trump declared during remarks at the 2024 Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
